Continuing a longtime relationship with PBS, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and partner Artful Travelers announced an exclusive 12-night sailing onboard Seven Seas Voyager that will combine the best in leisure and learning with celebrated PBS personalities. Guests sailing on this incredible voyage can take advantage of an exclusive pre-cruise journey through the pastoral English countryside with a special lunch and afternoon hosted by best-selling author Lady Fiona Carnarvon, the chatelaine of Highclere Castle, better known as the setting for the Emmy Award-winning "Downton Abbey" on PBS Masterpiece.

Taking place during the Masters and Tsars itinerary departing on August 27, 2014, guests will have an opportunity to book an excursion that visits locales featured in episodes of "Downton Abbey" prior to embarking the ship in Southampton and setting sail for a 12-night voyage through the Baltic Sea to Stockholm.

"Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Artful Travelers have been successfully presenting public broadcasting themed cruises for ten years," shares Kunal S. Kamlani, the line’s president. "What we have planned for this Masters and Tsars sailing is truly remarkable, starting with a pre-cruise experience that offers an inside look at the world of Downton Abbey and continuing throughout the cruise with a robust line-up of notable personalities that fans of PBS programming won’t want to miss."

After enjoying the charming scenery of the English countryside via luxury coach, a photo stop and tour awaits guests at Basildon Park, the elegant house-setting for the "Downton Abbey" Christmas Day special from 2013. The afternoon features a lavish three-course lunch at The Vineyard restaurant, during which guests will explore the history of Highclere Castle as told by Lady Carnarvon, the longtime steward at the stately home, which serves as the primary setting for "Downton Abbey." She has been on set during much of the filming of the landmark series, and will share her personal experiences with the cast and crew. The afternoon culminates with an exclusive signing of Lady Carnarvon’s latest book, The New York Times best-seller "Lady Catherine and the Real Downton Abbey."

Once onboard the award-winning Seven Seas Voyager, guests will enjoy lectures and informal discussions with esteemed PBS personalities including Gwen Ifill of "Washington Week" and Executive Producer of "American Masters" Michael Kantor. In addition, David Zippel, Tony Award-winning lyricist and director, and Tony Award-nominated vocalist and actress Christine Andreas will join guests for the sailing and select shore excursions.
