2017 World Cruise Nears Sold-Out Status

Postby HostDave » Fri Aug 07, 2015 1:21 pm

Regent Seven Seas Cruises booked almost 70 percent of its 2017 World Cruise, the line’s first in six years, on the first day sales opened.

That’s the word from Frank Del Rio, CEO of parent company Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd., who shared the response during an Aug. 4 conference call with analysts.

Fares start at $54,999 per person for the 128-night global voyage, which will depart Miami on Jan. 5, 2017, on the 490-guest Seven Seas Navigator.

The cruise will visit six continents, 31 countries, and more than 60 ports of call. The itinerary includes 29 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, which can be explored during free unlimited shore excursions to places such as Petra in Jordan, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, Léon Cathedral in Nicaragua, and Elephanta Caves in India.

Del Rio said Regent was able to operate a World Cruise again because the new Seven Seas Explorer is entering service in July 2016.

The fleet expansion to four ships “allows us to become more creative and adventurous with the Regent brand,” he said.

Bookings opened July 15. Travelers who book the full voyage also get extra amenities, including the pre-cruise hotel and gala at the Biltmore, free first-class air, the exclusive shoreside events, door-to-door luggage service, a free visa package, unlimited laundry including dry-cleaning and pressing, free unlimited Wi-Fi throughout the ship, free phone time per suite, a commemorative gift, and free onboard medical service.
