Seven Seas Voyager refit adds Chartreuse restaurant, suite upgrades

Postby HostDave » Wed Oct 05, 2016 1:30 pm

The 2003-built Seven Seas Voyager is being renovated this month to add features like those of the new Seven Seas Explorer. Upgrades are in store for suites and the main restaurant, and the ship will add the French dining venue, Chartreuse, that debuted with Seven Seas Explorer.

The Penthouse, Concierge and Deluxe suites will receive new contemporary design accentuating their spaciousness. A plush padded leather headboard supports the Elite Slumber Bed, and the sitting area features a stylish sofa with accent table and new artwork.

Furnishings, china, flooring and décor elements in Chartreuse are inspired by the restaurant on Seven Seas Explorer. The menu will be identical with specialties such as roasted rack of lamb with rosemary persillade and chickpea fritters, and poached lobster and scallop ballotine, green asparagus and fava beans.

The main Compass Rose restaurant will be made grander. Throughout the 422-seat dining room are subtle geometric patterns underscored with rich wooden accents and antique bronze highlights. Plush cobalt blue drapes accent oversized windows that run along both sides of the restaurant. Grand crystal chandeliers are enhanced by recessed ceiling lights, and intimate tables are ringed by leather chairs adorned with swirls of celestial blue fabric.

The indoor-outdoor dining spot La Veranda will feature a fresh and airy design with light gray-colored flooring and walls that accentuate the natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows. In a major structural change, the buffet area will be more open, allowing access from both sides of the restaurant.

A major highlight is a new cook-to-order grill station at the buffet. La Veranda offers casual indoor and alfresco dining with a buffet for breakfast and lunch. Each evening the restaurant transforms into an elegant fine dining restaurant, Sette Mari at La Veranda, with dishes prepared á la minute.

Seven Seas Voyager's Pool Grill will be completely refurbished with stylish yet casual seating areas that flank both sides of the ship. A new infrared barbecue grill is planned so the chefs can prepare dishes like steaks, chops, lamb and salmon on the open deck.

The Voyager Lounge has a new design Inspired by a modern interpretation of a French cabaret. Large, champagne-colored chandeliers cascade down over crimson colored loveseats along a wall of oversized windows. A black-and-white marble topped bar surrounded by plush red leather bar stools anchors one end of the lounge while intimate gray seating alcoves facing the stage spread across the other.

The ship's reception area area will be completely redesigned with both contemporary and classical elements. The reception desk is surrounded with rich wood finishes, plush carpeting and intimate seating areas.

Other enhancements will be made to Coffee Connection, the Connoisseur Lounge, card room, boutiques, casino and the Canyon Ranch SpaClub.

The work follows Seven Seas Navigator's upgrade, part of a $125m fleetwide refurbishment that includes Seven Seas Mariner in April.

Seven Seas Voyager's first post-refurbishment cruise will be a 23-night Barcelona to Dubai sailing on Nov. 9. It's also the line’s annual Reunion Cruise hosted by Jason Montague, president and CEO, Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
