Hurricane Sandy Update

Postby HostDave » Tue Oct 30, 2012 9:03 pm

Regent Seven Seas Cruises is closely monitoring Hurricane Sandy and its impact on travel plans. Seven Seas Navigator will sail her scheduled itinerary except that she will now overnight in Halifax on Tuesday, October 30 and cancel her call on Bar Harbor, Maine on Wednesday, October 31.

The Port of New York is currently closed and the Coast Guard has not determined when the port will reopen. At this time, with the current forecast of the storm’s path, we expect Seven Seas Navigator to arrive in New York on November 3 as scheduled.

Additionally, we are aware of airport closures and flight cancellations. Our Air Department is working closely with our airline partners to re-route guests who have booked their air arrangements through Regent Seven Seas Cruises. For those guests who have booked air through their travel agents, we encourage them to contact their travel agent directly. Please be aware that this is a very fluid situation and we will post updates as additional information becomes available

Hurricane Sandy has had an unprecedented impact on New York City and the North Eastern corridor. Our thoughts are with all those who have been affected by this horrific storm.

At this time, the Port of New York remains closed. Regent Seven Seas Cruises has been in discussions with Port Authority officials and they have indicated that, at this time, the harbor is unsafe for passage and therefore cannot confirm Seven Seas Navigator's overnight call on Saturday, November 3. As a result, the company has made the decision to cancel the ship’s call on New York for Saturday and Sunday.

Instead, Seven Seas Navigator will now sail to Charleston, South Carolina arriving on Monday, November 5, a day earlier than originally scheduled. The ship will overnight in the southern city departing on Tuesday night. At this time, we expect the rest of the scheduled itinerary to remain the same with the cruise ending in Miami on November 8.
