December 23, 2013, Shanghai – The first topping out of a front of house building at Shanghai Disney Resort was celebrated today at the resort build site, marking a new milestone in the project's development. The moment was commemorated when concrete was poured into the last section of the roof structure for a key building in the resort's retail, dining and entertainment area. The building occupies a key location near the resort's central lake and will host a variety of dining and entertainment options for Guests while offering stunning views of both the lake and Shanghai Disneyland's Enchanted Storybook Castle.

Retail, dining and entertainment areas are key features of Disney resorts around the world, ensuring Guests will enjoy an integrated resort experience, together with world-class hotels and theme parks. Shanghai Disney Resort's retail, dining and entertainment district will initially be comprised of a 46,000 square meter pedestrian-access area and will be located next to Shanghai Disneyland, Shanghai Disney Resort's Magic Kingdom-style theme park.
