SHANGHAI DISNEY RESORT PREPARES FOR STUDENT RECRUITMENT

Postby HostDave » Thu Apr 17, 2014 4:38 am

Shanghai Disney Resort today launched its 2014 China Campus Roadshow Program, a precursor to the resort's future mass recruitment drive, and a key step in the resort's overall recruitment plan. As construction continues on the resort, the Shanghai Disney Resort management company is preparing for operational readiness, with recruitment and training a key focus, and the Campus Roadshow provides an early opportunity for Chinese university and college students to learn about the resort's exciting career opportunities.

The 2014 China Campus Roadshow Program will visit several universities and colleges in Shanghai before moving on to other regions including Zhejiang, Anhui and Henan. At each stop, senior leaders from the resort's management company will introduce the resort's unique career opportunities to university and college students. The program aims to support the resort's mass graduate recruitment campaign to be launched in the second half of this year, when the resort will recruit several thousand graduates to fill positions in a wide range of disciplines to support the resort's operations, such as food and beverage, merchandise, park operations and hotel operations.

"In the coming two years, the development of Shanghai Disney Resort will rapidly generate many great employment opportunities for Chinese talent at all levels," said Mike Crawford, General Manager of Shanghai Disney Resort. "We are seeking to attract local talent from Shanghai and across China who are interested in the tourism and service industry and who are driven by a passion for excellence to join us in creating a world-class family vacation destination in China."

In parallel with the campus roadshow program, in the coming weeks Shanghai Disney Resort's Entertainment team will present information sessions to performing art colleges in Shanghai, to support the resort's talent auditions beginning in the second half of this year. The focus of these programs will be to attract candidates for the resort's entertainment roles, and to support the development of China's cultural industries.

"The shows and performances in Shanghai Disney Resort will provide a unique platform to integrate Chinese creative and performing talent into our world-class Disney productions," said Laurie Jordan, Vice President of Entertainment and Costuming, Shanghai Disney Resort. "We look forward to recruiting top Chinese talent, both onstage and behind the scenes, to help bring our exciting entertainment program to life."

The Shanghai Disney Resort management company and its two owner companies currently employ a team of over 700 local Cast Members and Imagineers working on the development and operation of the resort. The team will expand rapidly in the coming 18 months in order to support the start of operations of the resort, targeted for late 2015.
