Postby HostDave » Thu Jul 18, 2013 1:25 am

AmaWaterways has released its full 2014 Europe, Russia, Africa and Southeast Asia brochure that includes details on two new vessels—the 164-passenger AmaSonata and AmaReina. The 157-page publication showcases AmaWaterways’ itineraries and fleet of ships, which operate in more than 20 countries.

The AmaSonata and AmaReina (sister ships to the AmaPrima and AmaCerto) will debut in Europe in 2014. These ships will feature Twin Balcony Staterooms and Suites, multiple dining venues, a heated pool with swim-up bar, massage and beauty salon, fitness center, free in-room Internet and entertainment, and bicycles for guests to borrow. The AmaSonata will cruise the Danube and Rhine rivers on seven itineraries while the AmaReina will operate “The Enchanting Rhine” seven-night itinerary.

New Limited Edition Tours are shore excursions with a specific focus, from culinary-themed tours exploring regional specialties to guided bike tours.

Also new, AmaWaterways will serve complimentary and unlimited fine wines, beer and soft drinks with every lunch and dinner aboard the European fleet, with the exception of the AmaKatarina in Russia.

New theme cruises include the “Chocolate Connoisseurs Cruise” on the Danube in April 2014, which will feature renowned chocolatier Norman Love. The Knitting New Year’s Cruise on the Danube in December 2014 will showcase the latest in luxury yarns and classes and forums on fashion trends, patterns and techniques. This cruise will be hosted by Barry Klein, owner of Trendsetter Yarns in Los Angeles.

New enhancements to the 2014 cruise-and-land safari programs include a 15-day “Rivers & Rails of Africa” itinerary, which features two nights aboard the Rovos Rail luxury train. The 16-day “Stars of South Africa” and 18-day “Golden Trails of East Africa” itineraries feature accommodations such as Singita Sweni Lodge and Singita Sabora Tented Camp, both ranked among the world’s “Top 10 Hotels” by Travel+Leisure. For guests looking for a shorter adventure, there is also a 12-day “Discover Africa” itinerary.
