2015 Gold Magellan Award in “River Cruising” Goes to American Cruise Lines

Postby HostDave » Sat Sep 26, 2015 4:23 pm

American Cruise Lines, operator of the newest riverboats and small cruise ships in the United States, is pleased to announce it has received the 2015 Gold Magellan Award from Travel Weekly. The award was achieved in the Cruise Overall: River Cruising category, making American Cruise Lines the winner in this category for the second consecutive year. The Magellan Awards, judged by a panel of top travel industry professionals, are the premier awards honoring a high standard of excellence within the travel industry.

“It is an honor to yet again receive this prestigious award in the River Cruising category. We are pleased to be recognized for our highly personalized service and exceptional small ship cruising experience that is the hallmark of American Cruise Lines,” said Timothy Beebe, Vice President of American Cruise Lines.

The news of this awards comes only a month after American Cruise Lines announced expansion in both fleet and capacity. In August, American Cruise Lines announced the launch of its newest paddlewheeler, America, to operate on the Mississippi River in 2016, and also announced the line is doubling of capacity on the Columbia and Snake River.

American Cruise Lines specializes in cruises on the rivers and inland waterways of the United States, and has received world-wide recognition as the first to revive Paddlewheel River cruising in America.
