Every year, more than 30 participants convert the Lido Deck of the EUROPA into a veritable paradise for the palate on the occasion of the gourmet festival “EUROPA’s Best“. This year’s event took place on 17 June 2012 against the backdrop of Antwerp. Numerous starred chefs, winegrowers, chocolatiers, fromagers and patissiers got together aboard the 5-star-plus-ship (according to Berlitz Cruise Guide 2012) in order to treat the guests to extraordinary culinary creations.

At the cooking units, the top chefs who had come from all parts of Europe specifically for the event presented sophisticated culinary highlights such as “marinated and iced duck liver served with smoked eel and pineapple“, “confit of young pork belly in chorizo broth with marinated pulpo“ as well as “fillet and braised veal cheek, jelly made of spruce tips, carrot-vanilla puree and pak choy“. Select vineyards presented their exquisite wines to go with the meals, and chocolatiers, patissiers and fromagers offered a selection of the most exclusive desserts and cheese specialities.

Next year, the gourmet cruise featuring the event “EUROPA’s Best“ will take place from 30 May until 12 June 2013 (13 days) and take the guests from Lisbon via Leixoes, St.-Jean-de-Luz, Bordeaux, Brest, St. Malo, Honfleur, Ostende, Antwerp and Amsterdam to Hamburg, from 4,650 Euros per person cruise only. The event “EUROPA’s Best“ will be hosted in the context of this cruise on 9 June 2013 in Antwerp.
