Hapag-Lloyd Cruises extended the docking of Bremen at Blohm+Voss shipyard in Hamburg after propeller damage was detected during a scheduled yard inspection.
The 11-day cruise scheduled to depart Hamburg for Lisbon on Oct. 4 was canceled.
Bremen is expected to remain at Blohm+Voss until Oct. 10, and is scheduled to resume operation from Lisbon on Oct. 15.
Hapag-Lloyd Cruises confirmed it contacted passengers affected by the cancellation, who will receive full compensation for the price of their trip including optionally booked pre- and post-cruise arrangements. In addition, the line will give a discount for a future sailing to customers who decide to rebook. Travel agent commissions are protected.
Bremen’s Oct. 15 sailing from Lisbon is a 13-day cruise to Santa Cruz de Tenerife by way of the Azores Islands.
