River Tosca “Best Cruise Ship” by Egypt’s Tourism Ministry

(Los Angeles, CA): On September 27, 2012, the Ministry of Tourism in Egypt recognized Uniworld’s River Tosca out of nearly 300 cruise ships sailing the Nile River as the “Best Cruise Ship” to commemorate international “World Tourism Day.” Since 1980, World Tourism Day has provided a wonderful forum to raise awareness around the world of this vital economic sector and its contribution to social, cultural, economic, and environmental well-being worldwide. For countries, such as Egypt, whose infrastructure relies so heavily on tourism, this is a very important event.

In Cairo, “World Tourism Day” is celebrated under the umbrella of Ministry of Tourism. On this day, the Ministry awards the “best of the best” in the travel industry, including cruise ships, hotels, and tour companies. The winners are chosen based on grading criteria that includes safety, hospitality, facilities, and decoration.
