Four Seasons At The Magic Kingdom Gets A Website

The idea of a luxe Four Seasons hotel at Disney World might seem sacrilegious to some, but it will be happening next year in Orlando. Wealthy Four Seasons fans have kids too, you know.

That 2014 opening hasn’t changed – this is a from-the-ground-up construction after all – so imagine our surprise when we stumbled on a dedicated website (www.fourseasons.com/orlando/) for the hotel, even though it’s not yet listed among upcoming properties over at Four Seasons, let alone in the list of destinations. So what’s there to know about Four Seasons at the Magic Kingdom?

It’s big. This will be the largest Four Seasons Resort in the world, with 434 guestrooms. The vast majority are standard Deluxe Rooms, with 38 Executive Suites, 18 One-bedroom Suites, 6 Two-bedroom Suites, 1 Presidential Suite, and 1 Royal Suite. The hotel will be part of the community of Golden Oak, planned by Walt Disney Imagineering (we are so not making that up).

There will be kids, and a lot of activities catered to them. There is the Walt Disney Magic Kingdom, the Disney Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, - breathe, breathe - Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, and EPCOT Future World and World Showcase, aside from all the amenities of a Four Seasons resort. And you know the Kids at Four Seasons program will be big here.

You should be able to find some quiet seclusion if you need it. There will be a “quiet” pool, separate from the “active” pool. Children can get their fill with a lazy river ride and splash pad, and separate children’s pool area. To really get away from it all there is an extensive spa, with a number of treatment rooms, some of which have private terraces with plunge pools.

Like it? You could move permanently if you wanted to. Golden Oak has a range of luxury residences if life at Disney is your dream.

You won’t go hungry. The Four Seasons will have three restaurants, an all-day Mediterranean restaurant, a pool-side casual eatery, and a rooftop steakhouse, with views of the Disney fireworks.

The sprawling resort will be designed in a style called Florida Revival, a mix of Spanish revival architecture of Boca Raton and Florida’s golden age (whenever that was). It looks out over a Tom Fazio designed golf course, to be managed by Four Seasons, which a lot of the dads (and moms) will appreciate.
